One of the greatest races of the summer will be held this Saturday at Saratoga, that being the $1.25 million Travers Stakes (gr. I) for three-year-olds. The ten-furlong race, often called the “Midsummer Derby,” has drawn an incredibly deep field of fourteen horses, including Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Exaggerator and Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Creator. The field is so deep and talented that the Travers is shaping up to be a fourth leg of the Triple Crown!
