Since I enjoy self-torment (to a small degree, I should say), I try to keep track of not just the ‘big’ Triple Crowns of Europe and North and South America, but also Scandinavia, southern/central Europe, and parts elsewhere. If there’s any interest in obtaining what I have or filling in the gaps on what I don’t have (hello, Belgium!), I’m game for trying to find stuff. I’m always updating my Excel spreadsheets, if and when I can down the winner of the Dansk 2000 Guineas or the Clasico Rubi in Mexico (which often involves YouTube and wishing I had done better in Spanish in high school), so that by the end of each year I’m usually up to date. Scandinavia is fun, Eastern Europe is challenging, South Africa is bewildering, and let’s just not talk about Kenya for now or I’ll just get depressed again.

(I also work continually on a project about broodmares that have produced two or more classic winners from anywhere in the world, and there’s scads of them)

P.S. By the way, my great-grandmother was a Keeler :)
