Shagaf and My Man Sam drew most of the attention on Sunday morning at Churchill Downs after turning in timed workouts (click here for details), but there were several other Derby contenders out for training this morning, including Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II) winner Mohaymen and LeComte Stakes (gr. III) winner Mo Tom.

Mohaymen turned in an enthusiastic gallop and seemed to be tugging at the reins and asking for his rider to let him go faster. Mo Tom also galloped strongly, but at what appeared to be a more modest pace.

Both Mohaymen and Mo Tom are coming off of fourth-place finishers in their most recent races, with Mohaymen coming home 8 1/4 lengths behind Nyquist in the Florida Derby (gr. I) and Mo Tom checking in six lengths behind Gun Runner in the Louisiana Derby (gr. II). However, both had difficult trips, with Mohaymen racing wide and Mo Tom getting checked in the homestretch, and given the way that they have been training at Churchill Downs, they could rebound strongly in the Kentucky Derby.
