If it’s OK, I’d like to take a straw poll.

I may stay at the Best Western Albany Airport. Who else is interested in staying there? 10 rooms are needed there.

How many would like at the 139 Circular St. location, mentioned by Magnoliagirl? There appears to be good interest in that location. It looks like there is room for 12.

Hey Barry:

I am for whichever one will get more of us together. I like Magnoliagirl’s house with the idea that one person would room with me so,it would be down to $125 per night ( 4 nights, right?).

This presumes there would be enough of us who could afford the house.

If not, I will go with Option 2: the Best Western. I will have my car so I can shuttle 4 people (plus me. your friendly (?) driver) if necessary.

Hi Barry,
My friend booked a room for us at RRI in Clifton Park, incase things got booked up. At $115 (+ tax) for a 2 queen beds/non smoking. If they have a better rate if booked with a large group, we can cancel and rebook. I like the fact it’s a closer drive then the Best Western in Albany, but I don’t know the areas at all.

My friend was checking out any Red Roof Inns since we stay at them when traveling for dog shows. There is 1 in Clifton Park which is only 10 miles from Saratoga. Does anyone know the area? And if you do-is it a safe area?

I’ve never been there. Also, there’s a Holiday Inn Express or Comfort Suites, that offers admission and a program, as part of their package.

Good morning everyone. I’ve been looking at affordable ways to stay in Saratoga and here is what I’ve come up with. Please google Track Rental.com (Saratoga summer rentals) most of the places are listed as weekly rentals but I talked to a nice guy named Gardner Cummings that said a Wed thru Sun rental could be available. He directed me to a 6 bedroom 5 bath house located at 139 Circular St 1 block from downtown and 4 blocks from the track, he said this property would rent for around $6000.00 for 4 nights. The property has 2 king bedrooms… Read more »

Mags, the place looks great. Still out of mine and my friend’s budget. Wouldn’t have any money left for betting, lol…I hope for those of yens that want to stay there, you get enough people to afford to rent the place.

Looked at the website, the house looks very nice, the location seems great, and the price is right. It would be nice to have a place confirmed, one less thing to be concerned about.

I do want to stay in town near the track, the casino, and shopping.

Sounds good to me. I am open to sharing a room, since I will be coming by myself.

You can have your own room for $250 a night this way or split a room with someone for half the cost.

Transport may be the most difficult thing to arrange but it may wait until later in the planning. If we are all at one hotel, then having a few designated car-renters (with chipping in from the non-renters) might be the best option. Maybe when we far-away sorts get our flights to arrive within a couple hours of one another so that some don’t have to camp in the airport? I’m all in favor of room-sharing. That’s what happened on my bus tour to Spain some years back and it worked out fine. I’m a quiet sleeper (unlike my son, who… Read more »
