The Silks of the 2016 Preakness Contenders

Watching a major race like the Preakness Stakes is always fun, but it’s even more fun if you can clearly identify your favorite horses without waiting for the track announcer to call their name. Fortunately, you can keep track of all the horses with ease if you memorize the jockey silks of each Preakness contender!

Thanks to Pimlico, memorizing the silks couldn’t be easier–the Preakness website has provided a special PDF (click here to view) that includes the silks and past performances for each Preakness contender. Some silks, such as those of Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist, are easily recognizable, but others–such as those of Awesome Speed and Abiding Star–are less familiar to even the most dedicated racing fans. By memorizing the silks (or by keeping a printout of the PDF on hand during the race), you can easily keep track of your favorites horses as the race unfolds. Enjoy the Preakness!
