In an exciting development, it has been confirmed that Sticksstatelydude–an impressive maiden winner at Saratoga that most recently finished fourth in the October 3rd Breeders’ Futurity (gr. I) with a slightly rough trip–will start in the $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) on October 31st at Keeneland.

Trained by Greg Burchell, the son of First Dude breezed four furlongs in a sharp :47 4/5 at Keeneland on the morning of October 16th, starting off with fractions of :11 4/5 and :23 4/5 before galloping-out five furlongs in 1:01 4/5 according to Keeneland Clockers.

According to the Keeneland Barn Notes for October 16th, Burchell said after the workout “We will [pre-enter Sticksstatelydude in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.] That’s our plan right now,”

“It is just maintenance now,” Burchell added. “The Breeders’ Futurity got him tight. The way he trains, he’s a free galloper and goes around there in 2:05, 2:06. Conditioning will be no excuse.”
