Seven Grade I Winners Headline Whitney Stakes

Seven grade I winners, led by Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) winner Honor Code and 2014 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) winner Tonalist, are part of a very strong group of horses that will contest the $1,250,000 Whitney Stakes (gr. I) on August 8th at Saratoga.

Also in the field are defending Whitney winner Moreno, Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) winner Noble Bird, 2014 Donn Handicap (gr. I) winner Lea, 2014 Travers Stakes (gr. I) winner V. E. Day, 2014 Wood Memorial (gr. I) winner Wicked Strong, and Brooklyn Handicap (gr. II) winner Coach Inge. The overall quality and depth of this year’s Whitney should ensure that it is among the most memorable races of the year, and it should play a major role in sorting out the best older male horses on the East Coast as they prepare for the Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) on October 31st at Keeneland.
