Rachel Alexandra’s Second Foal Prepares For Her Debut

Rachel’s Valentina, the second foal out of 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, breezed a very fast half-mile on July 11th at Saratoga and appears to be very close to making her first start.

Sired by Bernardini and bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, Rachel’s Valentina went the distance in :47.04 from the starting gate, which was the fastest of eighty-two morning workouts at that distance. The bay filly, who is trained by Todd Pletcher, has turned in a long and impressive series of workouts at Saratoga over the last couple of months and will likely be ready to debut during the Saratoga meet that begins on July 24th.

Stay tuned to The Turf Board for additional updates on Rachel’s Valentina as she prepares for her racing career!
