The amazing mare Beholder, a three-time Eclipse award winner and a two-time Breeders’ Cup champion, is expected to run in a prep race prior to the June 4th Vanity Mile (gr. I) at Santa Anita.

“We’re in no hurry (for the Vanity),” trainer Richard Mandella was quoted as saying in the Santa Anita Stable Notes for March 10th. “Hopefully, there will be something before that.”

In 2015, Beholder won in the 8.5-furlong Adoration Stakes (gr. III) on June 13th, and that race–scheduled for May 8th this year–could be a logical prep for the Vanity Mile. In her most recent workout, Beholder breezed three furlongs in :36.80 on March 5th at Santa Anita.
