In one is shaping up to be one of the most wide-open and competitive races of the entire Breeders’ Cup, 17 fillies and mares were pre-entered in the $1,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I), including defending champion Wavell Avenue.

The seven-furlong race is scheduled as the tenth on the Saturday card and will be prominently featured in the late Pick 4 sequence, ahead of only the Breeders’ Cup Mile and Classic in the lineup of races. The complete list of pre-entries is as follows:
