2016 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint Post Positions

Some of the best female sprinters in the United States will take center stages on November 5th at Santa Anita Park, where the $1,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I) will be contested just 1 1/2 hours before the featured Breeders’ Cup Classic.

A field of 13 fillies and mares have been entered in the seven-furlong race, including defending champion Wavell Avenue. She will be joined by Carina Mia, winner of the Acorn Stakes (gr. I), Haveyougoneaway, a winner of three straight races including the Ballerina Stakes (gr. I), and Tara’s Tango, who will be cutting back in distance after winning the Santa Margarita Handicap (gr. I) going nine furlongs earlier this year.
