In what could be one of the most exciting races of the entire Breeders’ Cup, a deep field of fourteen horses will head to post for the $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. I), including a strong contingent of runners from Europe.

Leading the way is the five-year-old mare Esoterique, winner of the Prix Jacques La Marois (Fr-I) against males in August. She will be joined from Europe by Impassable, winner of two straight group II races in France; Karakontie, winner of the 2014 Breeders’ Cup Mile; Make Believe, winner of the Qatar Prix de la Foret (Fr-I) last time out; Mondialiste, winner of the Woodbine Mile (gr. The North American-based runners are a strong group as well, with the best including First Lady Stakes (gr. I) winner Tepin, Shadwell Turf Mile (gr. I) winner Grand Arch, and 2012 Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. I) third-place finisher Obviously.
